Lately, I've been engrossed in a captivating book titled "Rewild Yourself: Becoming Nature" by Rachel Corby, and I cannot recommend it enough. This beautifully written piece delves into society's increasing mental health challenges, stress, depression, and antisocial behavior, largely caused by our growing detachment from nature and our own wild essence.
Today, I want to share some reflections on this subject, with a particular focus on the significance of self-respect and its far-reaching impact on our lives. It's a topic that I believe to be an epidemic issue affecting humanity worldwide due to our domestication and disconnection from nature. As a consequence, we may find ourselves questioning our worth, leading to a profound disconnect from our authentic selves.
The Power of Self-Respect
Self-respect is not merely an abstract notion; it's a vital aspect that influences every facet of our lives. When we lack self-respect, we become more susceptible to excessive self-sacrifice, allowing ourselves to be taken for granted or even walked over.
