*"I really appreciated the gentleness of diving in and seeing what’s going on."*

Over the years, I’ve observed that, especially wi...

Let’s Build Stronger Guts: The Sexy Truth About Fiber & Microbiome Health

Episode #208: Let's Build Stronger Guts: The Sexy Truth About Fiber & Microbiome Health

In this episode I take a dive into a topic that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves but thankfully it’s starting to -  is absolutely crucial to your health—fiber. Yes, fiber.

You may have heard it’s essential, but do you really know why? Let’s dig in and talk about the amazing, transformative power of fiber and its relationship with your gut and overall well-being.

But first  . . . I feel like in the holistic health space, it seems like everyone's been searching for solutions to their problems, and for over a decade, the main advice has been: "Just eliminate it."

But short-term relief doesn't equal true healing or recovery. Categorical eliminations galore—cutting out dairy because it’s "bad," going gluten-free because wheat is "bad," actually wait we should avoid all grains, oh and also let’s avoid legumes too  or avoiding a myriad of other plant...

In recent years, we’ve learned so much about the microbiome and its impact on overall health. Our understanding of gut health has evolved dramatically, and with it, our approach to healing the gut. But what does it really mean to heal your gut? The answer lies in one simple truth: healing your gut means rebuilding your microbiome.

Microbes Matter More Than You Think

Our relationship with food and gut health has never been static. The way we eat and how food is produced has always evolved, driven by environmental changes, resources, and our ever-expanding understanding of what true health looks like. Yet, as humans, we cling to familiar patterns—especially when it comes to our health. We tend to defend our habits and resist change, even when they no longer serve us.

In the realm of gut health, this resistance often shows up in the form of rigid dietary protocols, q...

As Above, So Below: What My Foot Injury Taught Me About Building a Strong Foundation for Optimal Well-Being

The phrase "As above, so below" recently took on new meaning for me. It’s a reminder of the harmony that exists in nature, where what happens on one level of reality is reflected on every other level. This balance is not just external—it’s mirrored within our bodies as well. Alchemists understood this deeply, seeing the connection b...

Let's Talk About Probiotics

Episode #201: Let's Talk About Probiotics!

In this podcast episode I share a lot of perspective on why we need to consider probiotics in the modern world - my favorite one to start with. I talk about why fermented foods may not do what we think and what we need to consider beyond probiotics because they are not silver bullets. Lots of good insight in this one so you can consider the big picture of your health scape when it comes to considering probiotic use.

Understanding Probiotics: Do You Need Them?

Today, let's dive into the topic of probiotics.

**Probiotic**
**PRO** = For
**BIOTIC** = Life

Do you need a probiotic? Does your gut need a boost in life?

Lately, in conversations with friends and colleagues, the subject of probiotics keeps coming up. Many are losing faith—do they actually work? Are they beneficial, or could they cause harm?

In the health and wellness community, I've noticed some saying that not everyone needs probiotics, ...

In this episode I'm still savoring the spring by highlighting one of my favorite wild greens, nettles. I share more about it and what it helps with particularly as a women's hormones ally. Then I opened up a conversation about perimenopause from my own personal perspective then with my practitioner hat on too. I would love to hear from you once you listen as to any take-aways you may have had.

Last year marked a significant milestone for me: I successfully harvested all my own nettles from the wild for personal use, sharing some with friends along the way. It was a goal I had set for myself, and I’m grateful to nature for her abundant nourishment. During my last harvest, I found myself singing to the nettle patch, and I've realized how important it is to connect with the plants we gather from the earth.

I’d like to share my song with you:

**Amazing Nettles**

Amazing nettles, how sw...

Spring Clean Your Health Naturally: A Guide to Seasonal Wellness

As the first blossoms of spring emerge, it's time to shake off the winter sluggishness and embrace the season of renewal. In our latest podcast episode, we delve into how we can work with spring to cleanse our bodies naturally, focusing on liver and gallbladder health. Building on last year's conversation about spring nutrition and natural detoxification, we're exploring even more ways to align with the season's energy.

Shifting from Force to Flow

This spring, let's move away from forced detoxes and harsh cleanses. Instead, we're embracing the natural rhythms of the season. By tuning into the longer days, milder temperatures, and fresh spring produce, we can support our body's innate cleansing processes.

Taking Inventory

Before we dive into spring cleaning our health, it's crucial to take stock of where we are. Here ar...

Navigating Gut Health and Histamine Intolerance

Recently, I shared on Instagram that I submitted my hair sample for my HTMA retest. After ten years of testing—this being my 38th—I’ve come to view these assessments as seasonal checkpoints in my journey to health.

Reflecting on my early experiences, I remember grappling with a highly volatile system. I was hypersensitive to everything, making it challenging to identify what my body could tolerate. My health felt like a constant cycle of crashing and burning, followed by brief recoveries, all while managing immense stress from multiple factors, including living in a water-damaged home. One of my most significant challenges was severe leaky gut, compounded by a relentless histamine response. For two long years, eating became a daunting task, as I never knew which foods would trigger a reaction.

During that time, I often found myself in a heighten...

The Importance of Gut Health: Rethinking Our Approach

Many people, if not most, are experiencing some degree of gut dysbiosis or "leaky gut." This observation stems from both clinical experience and a growing body of research on the human microbiome, as well as insights from ancestral health practices.

Surprisingly, most individuals who come to me have not adequately addressed their gut health. They may believe they’ve tackled it—often claiming to have healed their guts by eliminating problem foods or following various protocols to address pathogens. However, there’s little evidence that they have truly repaired their gut or are consuming enough nutrients for their microbial health, particularly the essential carbohydrates, plants, and fibers.

What Does Gut Repair Mean?

When I refer to "gut repair," I’m primarily talking about restoring the ...
