PODCAST: Let's Ditch the Diet Dogma

I’m so tired, aren’t you of over analyzing what foods humans should or shouldn’t eat and people talking about this diet or that diet for this dis-ease state/ label or that.

Listen to Episode #81: Ditch the Diet Dogma Find A Joy To Be Me on iTunes, iHeartRadio, Stitcher or Spotify

There is no single diet created by a human that will ever work long term for anyone or anything. I don’t even care how much ‘scientific literature’ there is behind a given diet- there is no scientific literature out there that has the ability to observe all human over the span of a lifetime.

If you want to live your life according to a paper or diet someone else wrote based on their research -be my guest. I’m over it.

What I can say is, quality matters and to the degree it is possible I encourage sourcing quality outside of the slave system that has been created to mass produce cheaply for a profit with zero intention of benefiting the consumer’s health.

I can’t in good conscious recommend you eat a ‘food like...

PODCAST: Do you really need to PUSH your vitamin D levels so high?

In this episode, I went on a little vitamin D rant because I’m still hearing it preached by ‘health experts’ especially in light of Covid.

Listen to Episode #80: RANT-Do You Really Need to PUSH your vitamin D levels so high? : Find A Joy To Be Me on iTunes, iHeartRadio, Stitcher or Spotify

I was listening to a recent talk , and the speaker was bragging about his stored vitamin D levels of 90.

But a large body of evidence in the medical literature strongly suggests that optimal vitamin D levels might be lower than these figures. There is little to no evidence showing benefit to 25(OH)D levels above 50 ng/mL, and increasing evidence to suggest that levels of this magnitude may cause harm. Consequences of vitamin D toxicity include heart attack, stroke, kidney stones, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, weight loss, and low bone density

I view supplementation from a metabolic standpoint via tissue mineral analysis studies and the interrelationship between vitamin D and othe...

PODCAST: Hair Analysis vs Blood Analysis

In this episode, I talk you through the difference between hair analysis and blood analysis.

Hair analysis (HTMA) and blood analysis are unique and measure different areas of the body. Since HTMA is less familiar, I thought I'd expound on how it offers a window into the cells to help balance body chemistry.

Listen to Episode #78 Hair Analysis vs Blood Analysis : Find A Joy To Be Me on iTunes, iHeartRadio, Stitcher or Spotify

Modern medicine is unfamiliar with hair analysis because it's more of a corrective path to health versus diagnostic. We have to remember the allopathic model is very directly tied to a corrupt system with a focus on prescribing medication and surgery primarily. They are not trained in preventative medicine.

Nutritional Therapy centers on the belief that real health can be achieved through a holistic and bio-individual approach to nutrition and lifestyle. This functional approach to health focuses on restoring balance to the body through a nutrient dense diet, natur...

PODCAST: Health Freedom for Humanity (New PA chapter)

I first learned about Health Freedom for Humanity back in April, when I had Tommy John on the podcast. It was shortly after I had shared a resource for those who were worried about Covid but did not want the vaccine

Listen to Episode #73: Health Freedom : Find A Joy To Be Me on iTunes, iHeartRadio, Stitcher or Spotify

To me, health freedom means CHOICE. It means honoring nature. It means not being coerced into a one size fits all model. It means honoring our intuition and trusting our bodies healing potential. It does not mean we cower and choose what we are being 'forced to accept'.

It means we know that we have a choice and will not be bullied to comply to a path that we know intuitively and firmly is not right for us.

Here is what the Health Freedom for Humanity Organization stands for:

Health Freedom for Humanity (HFFH) is a community of advocates, parents, teachers, actors,  veterans, doctors, lawyers, and friends, who stand to ensure Health Freedom for all people. We  come f...

PODCAST: Potassium is crucial in anyone with hypothyroidism

I'm finally getting around to getting all my past podcast episodes posted here on the blog for you. On the heels of my last episode; Let's Wake Up Your Thyroid, I'm digging in further on one of my favorite minerals.

In this episode, I'm sharing a primer on a key macro mineral that is crucial for women in burnout (with hypothyroidism). I share a little bit about how I've seen it trending low over the past 7 years seeing thousands of mineral analysis on clients/students. Why it's important to get enough in your diet daily and how. What it does for your whole systemic function and how it causes problems when it's deficient.

I referred back to episode 54 for more on minerals and thyroid health. As well, podcast episode 38 and 40 where I dug into vitamin D more so you can see if from a different perspective than the mainstream is currently discussing. Also, episodes 18-21 are all about copper and how it's become a big problem and how it deranges the mineral system.

Let's wake your thyroid back up!

Episode #54: Let's Wake Your Thyroid Back Up

Hey there! Have you been feeling off lately? Maybe you're exhausted all the time, or your weight's been creeping up for no reason? These could be signs that your thyroid isn't working quite right, and it's messing with your basic needs - you know, the stuff that keeps you going day to day.

In my latest podcast episode, I dive into something really exciting: the role of minerals in thyroid health. I think this could be a game-changer for so many of us dealing with thyroid issues.

Here's the thing: when your thyroid's out of whack, it doesn't just affect your physical health. It can make you feel unsafe in your own body, like you can't trust what's going on inside. And let's be real, that kind of stress can impact everything - your relationships, your self-esteem, even your ability to focus on bigger goals.

But here's where it gets interesting: I truly believe that mineral replacement therapy could be the n...

PODCAST: The dark side of antibiotics

In this episode, I talk about how antibiotics have never been tested safe for the human microbiome. They are also one of the most toxic classes of drugs and doctors hand them out like candy.

It's time to be HONEST about this excess overuse of antibiotics, so we can make educated decisions and create a better path to support our health.

Listen to Episode #72: The Dark Side of Antibiotics : Find A Joy To Be Me on iTunes, iHeartRadio, Stitcher or Spotify

I'm very passionate about this after seeing hundreds of clients health harmed in the long run in part by excess use of antibiotics over the course of their lives.

We can do better. In fact, we must.

Antibiotics are a class of medications that can save lives (when used appropriately).  However, antibiotics are extremely overprescribed and most are quite toxic.

They should be used as a last resort, not the first.  Very often, simple, inexpensive natural methods of healing infections work well, with far fewer adverse effects.

PODCAST: Conformity Sucks Your Energy Away

In this episode, I share what's been on my mind of late.  One thing that keeps coming up is standing in your own truth and sovereignty.

Being your full true self is a great source of energy. So many people lacking vitality are missing this piece of the puzzle.

The more you are ignited with appropriate nutrients the more empowered you will become as well. The more energy you’ll have to feel capable and stand in your own personal truth especially when it does not align with the herd.

Listen to Episode #70: Conformity Sucks Your Energy Away : Find A Joy To Be Me on iTunes, iHeartRadio, Stitcher or Spotify

The conformity mentality: "Everyone I know is doing X - so it can’t possibly be wrong?

If you are comparing your choices in life to the ‘herd mentality’ you are NOT allowing yourself to be yourself. Meaning, you are unwilling to do the inner work to choose your own path. Your research is never complete just by towing the line of conformity - it just means you’ve given up and in and th...

PODCAST: Navigating life with chemical sensitivities and mold

In this episode, I shared some insights after being on a quick getaway to Ithaca New York and staying in an AirBnb that used laundry detergent with heavy perfumes.

I referenced two of my past podcast episodes on mold, you can find those links below.

Listen to Episode #69: Navigating life with chemical sensitivities and mold : Find A Joy To Be Me on iTunes, iHeartRadio, Stitcher or Spotify

One of the things I know about myself is that if I go and stay anywhere for any length of time, I don't want to be trapped with chemicals. Like a long car ride with someone who uses a lot of laundry detergent, or sleeping a bed with all those chemicals either.

To me, it's obvious to avoid personal care and home care products that have toxins in them. To the rest of the world it's not. So, instead of demanding change from the world, I know I must be prepared to adapt to it so I don't react symptomatically.

In case you have not yet made the switch in your personal or home care products, I highly recomme...

PODCAST: Living a turned on life

In this episode, I shared some insights after being on a quick getaway to Ithaca New York. (By the way, have you ever been?)

I referenced a past podcast with Amy Love; 'Pleasure is the way out of burnout' and talked about what it takes to live a turned on life in the modern day (it may not be what you think).

Listen to Episode #68: Living a turned on life : Find A Joy To Be Me on iTunes, iHeartRadio, Stitcher or Spotify

My micro semi-local getaway was very intentional to be able to connect more deeply with nature (in a new place) and with my man. We both needed to change things up.

The thing is that nature therapy isn't just a nice to have, it's a need to have. Humans are designed to thrive in a more natural environment and setting. It support cognitive function, physical health and psychological well-being. The further you get away from nature the more lost you become.

While we were away, I was able to take a break from my work routine which is always helpful for creativity. I had some
